What makes Caffé Bianchi's different from other coffees?
We differ from other coffee sellers in five main ways:
1. Our coffee buyers select only the finest green coffees from around the world.
2. We deep roast each coffee individually in a single-batch roasters.
3. We only ship freshly roasted and hand-blended coffee to our mail order customers.
4. In our store, we only sell freshly roasted and hand-blended coffee to our customers.
5. There are no preservatives and added ingredients in our freshly roasted coffees.
What's your darkest, richest coffee?
At Caffe Bianchi’s, we specialize in deep roasted coffees. But “darkest” is not always “richest.” Espresso Forte is our richest roast, followed by Etrusco, and Formula 1. These blends both have prominent smoky or “roasty” notes. All Caffe Bianchi’s coffees are deep roasted. Many, of our unlised one origin coffees. such as PNG Dark, Mendhelin Blue, are very full bodied, with rich and complex flavors.
Do you sell flavored coffees?
Caffe Bianchi’s flavored coffees are prepared with natural essence and have have naturally occurring flavours. The nuances are subtle, but some coffees have distinctive chocolatey, fruity, or spicy tastes. We prefer these flavors to artificially flavored coffees, such as the readily available syrups that you pour after the coffee is brewed.
Do you have any light roasts?
We don’t sell light roast coffees, but some of our coffees are naturally milder than others, like Mocha Kenya and Thiopian Djimah.
Do your deep roasted coffees contain more caffeine than other, lighter coffees?
Fine coffees at any degree of roast contain roughly the same amount of caffeine (about 100 mg per cup). A single shot of espresso, while it may taste “stronger,”contains less caffeine than a regular cup of coffee (only about 70 mg.) because it is made with less ground coffee.
What is the difference between water processed and direct contact decaffeination?
Caffe Bianchi Only uses Water Processed Colombian Decaffeinated coffee where warm water is used under pressure to extract caffeine. Another method we do not favour is the direct contact method, which uses water, pressure and methylene chloride to remove caffeine. Both methods remove 96 to 98 percent of a coffee’s original caffeine content.
Do you sell any Fair Trade coffee?
We do sell Fair Trade coffees as Caffe Bianchi is a member of the Rain Forest Alliance organization, however, not all the plantations we deal with are yet eligible for Fair Trade certification; in all cases, Caffe Bianchi’s strives to actively work with partners to improve the quality of life in coffee-growing communities.
How should my coffee be ground for the best results?
The grind coarseness of your coffee should be based on the brewing unit that you will be using. Caffé Bianchi recommends the following:
For Turkish, Greek or Lebanese style brewing methods, the grind should be VERY FINE.
Using a cappuccino machine (pressure extraction), the grind should be FINE.
Drip Filter machines (auto or manual) require you use FINE to MEDIUM grind for best results.
Cafféttierras or stove-top espressos require that you obtain a MEDIUM grind for effective extraction of flavour.
MEDIUM to COARSE grind is essentially reserved for Plungers or the French Press.
How will my order be packaged?
Your order (whether it is ground or in whole beans) will be packaged in our silver lined foil bags to ensure longer lasting freshness.
How should I store the coffee?
The optimum method is to place the coffee in an airtight glass container and stored in a cool, dark area.
Should I grind only what I need to use?
YES! Ground coffee deteriorates rapidly if left open to the elements.
If I'm using a French press, how long should I wait before pouring the boiled water?
Let the freshly boiled water sit for approx 30 – 60 sec. Pouring boiled water of the grains will singe the top layer of the coffee.
Would Caffé Bianchi grind my beans?
Yes! All you need to do is indicate the type of grind you expect and we will grind them free of charge.
How is Caffé Bianchi's coffee decaffeinated?
All our decaffeinated coffees are of the finest Arabica beans achieved through the Swiss Water Process – all natural.
Is it alright to keep my coffee in the freezer?
No! Just as we would suffer frostbite, so would the coffee (beans or grind). The essential characteristics of your coffee would be changed.
